NACBH Strategic Plan: Membership

“No one belongs here more than you.”  – Brené Brown

Finding a membership association in which you truly belong can be a challenge. Myriad organizations exist to provide education, training, and resources to support professionals in the field of behavioral health, but at the end of the day what really makes the association is its community of members. That’s why the first goal statement for the National Association for Children’s Behavioral Health (NACBH) Strategic Plan focuses on building a diverse, dynamic, engaged membership which sustains the growth and reflects the values of NACBH.

Charlene Hoobler -- Chief Operating Officer of the Barry Robinson Center in Norfolk, Virginia and member of the NACBH Board of Directors -- couldn’t have put it better when she described NACBH as a “group of forward-thinking CEOs and Executive Directors of Children’s Behavioral Health Systems, all mission-driven and focused on business trends, best practices, and public policy.” NACBH is a true community, one that welcomes all who work to advance the field of Children’s Behavioral Health. It’s not an organization in which you have to “fit in.” You already belong.

A critical component of NACBH’s vision for the future is to cultivate a thriving membership community, one on which children’s behavioral health leaders can depend for a year-round exchange of ideas to advance their organization’s programs, services, and operations. Fulfilling this component of the strategic plan is an amazing opportunity for NACBH members, staff, and partners. There is so much in store over the next 18-months to bolster development of this community, and you can get involved!
