Presence Under Pressure: Mindfulness Skills for Working (and Surviving) with High Acuity Youth

Friday, December 4 | 10:30 - 11:45 AM

Working with high acuity youth doesn't leave much room for calm — one minute it's quiet, the next you're managing a crisis and still expected to stay level-headed. This 90-minute session covers what it takes to stay grounded in that environment, and how to use those same skills with the youth in your care..

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify personal and situational factors that impact mindful, clear-headed decision-making in high-stress roles.

  2. Apply practical mindfulness techniques to stay grounded and regulated during high-pressure moments, such as crisis response, staff conflict, or rapid decision-making.

  3. Develop strategies to model mindful skills and develop a culture of regulation and self-awareness among all staff.
