Turning Change into Opportunity: Navigating Federal Policy for Children, Families, and Communities

Thursday, December 3 | 10:30 - 11:30 AM

Federal policy changes are reshaping how organizations serve children, families, and communities—and leaders need more than a list of developments to respond effectively. This timely session will examine significant legislative, regulatory, funding, and administrative shifts affecting behavioral health and other child- and family-serving systems, with content updated to reflect the latest federal landscape. Through applied examples, attendees will explore the financial, operational, workforce, compliance, and partnership implications for public agencies, providers, health plans, nonprofits, and community organizations. Participants will leave with some ideas for anticipating change, evaluating risks and opportunities, and turning policy uncertainty into informed organizational action.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify significant federal legislative, regulatory, funding, and administrative developments affecting behavioral health and other child- and family-serving systems.

  2. Assess how these developments may affect their organizations’ finances, operations, workforce, compliance obligations, partnerships, and service-delivery models.

  3. Learn how to anticipate policy changes, evaluate risks and opportunities, and develop proactive organizational responses.
