NACBH Board of Directors Nominations
The NACBH Board of Directors is composed of dedicated professionals who share their passion and talents to lead NACBH's strategic transformation.
The nomination period for our next election cycle has opened and will close on Friday, August 1. We encourage you to consider nominating yourself or someone you know who has the necessary skills, experience and commitment to help shape the future of our association.
By serving on the Board, you will play a vital role in setting our strategic direction, guiding our programs and services, and advocating for policies that support the needs of our members and the children and families we serve. Nominations are solicited for the following Board positions:
- Directors
- Directors At-Large (non-voting)
To submit a nomination, please contact Jennifer Duckworth by Friday, August 1, 2025. We look forward to receiving your nominations and thank you in advance for your participation.
Please keep the following in mind as you consider potential nominations:
- Any Voting Member (Board-Eligible, Association, and Multi-Facility System Members) may place names in nomination. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged.
- Nominees must be an employee, officer or designee of a Board-Eligible Member or a Multi-Facility System Member's participating program which is otherwise qualified as board-eligible (i.e., accredited by the Joint Commission, COA or CARF). The nominees’ member agency must be current with dues payments.
- No NACBH member may have more than one Officer serving on the Board at the same time. Officers include the Immediate Past President, President, Vice-President/President-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer.
- The bylaws state that "one person may hold two or more offices except that neither the Vice President, nor Secretary, nor Treasurer may concurrently serve as President."
- Directors are elected for two-year terms. Terms are staggered alternately for two-year intervals.
- Directors At-Large are elected for one-year terms and are non-voting Board members.
- Officers are elected for two-year terms, with the exception of the President and Immediate Past President. The Vice President/President-Elect automatically assumes the Presidency at the completion of his or her two-year term as VP/PE (the total commitment to this role is six years in order to fulfill the roles of VP/PE, President and Immediate Past President).
- Any Board member whose term is expiring may be nominated for another term of Board service.
- The Board generally meets in person at least twice a year and by web conference every other month, the Executive Committee (all officers) meet in the remaining months.
- Board Members travel at their own/their own agency’s expense.
