CQI: A Data-Driven Journey to Continuous Improvement

Friday, December 5 | 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM

In order to identify an area for improvement for a specific program or an organization, a continuous quality improvement (CQI) process should be embedded in the culture of the organization. This data-driven process can help support a culture of continuous improvement within all levels of the organization which leads to an understanding of current performance and identifying where improvements are needed. Those improvements can lead to improved outcomes for the people being served as well as sustainable business practices. In support of the theme a Data-Driven Decision Making, this session will explore the importance of a CQI process within an organization and how having a systematic approach to identifying the processes and outcomes of a program or set of practices through regular data collection and the application of change strategies can lead to improvements in organizational performance, sustainability, and outcomes. Participants will be provided with practical examples and situations that they can utilize and implement within their organization's CQI system.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the importance of data in CQI and organizational sustainability.
  • Identify at least three types of data to measure and learn how to review and analyze the data.
  • Gain knowledge of the key components of a CQI system.
