Transforming Care and Culture in Congregate Treatment Settings:  Revolutionizing Outcomes With an Objective AI-Driven Approach

Thursday, December 4 | 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM

Congregate care settings face persistent challenges in maintaining consistent, high-quality interactions between direct care staff and vulnerable youth. This session introduces a groundbreaking AI-driven model—REAL Care (Responsive, Engaged, Active, Loving)—that objectively evaluates observable behaviors and reinforces positive caregiving practices through dynamic, performance-based incentives. Attendees will learn how this innovative system integrates behavioral science, real-time data, and human oversight to enhance staff engagement, reduce risk, and improve outcomes. Designed to be voluntary, bias-resistant, and aligned with best practices, the REAL Care model represents a scalable and sustainable solution to workforce challenges in residential care environments.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the foundational components and behavioral principles behind the REAL Care AI model and its application in residential treatment settings.
  • Identify how AI-driven observation and incentive-based pay structures can promote consistent, positive caregiving behaviors.
  • Explore the ethical considerations and implementation strategies for maintaining transparency, objectivity, and voluntary participation in AI-based workforce monitoring.
