New Resource:  Behavioral Health Workforce Burnout

SAMHSA has issued the latest in a series of evidence-based resource guides, Addressing Burnout in the Behavioral Health Workforce Through Organizational Strategies.  The guide provides an overview of the prevalence, contributing factors, and implications of burnout.  It presents organization-level strategies to prevent and address burnout and outlines broad lessons learned from previous studies on causes and mediators in areas such as workload, control, reward, community, fairness, and values.  Finally, the guide describes programs that have implemented some of the highlighted strategies and provides guidance and resources for evaluating organization-level initiatives to address employee burnout and monitor outcomes.
