New Tools for Adolescent Health Professionals

Chapin Hall, the independent policy research center at the University of Chicago, is working with Child Trends to develop research-informed sexual and reproductive health resources for the Activate Collective.  Activate is focused on three youth populations:  youth involved in the child welfare or justice system, youth experiencing homelessness, and youth who are neither working nor in school (“opportunity youth”).  Learn more about the project and find links to all tools, most recently:

  • Helping young people choose the birth control method right for them
  • Understanding the sexual and reproductive health of opportunity youth
  • Using trauma-responsive, LGBTQ+ affirming care to connect young people to sexual and reproductive health services
  • Incorporating social determinants of health and equity in practice to address sexual and reproductive health for young people in foster care.
