Showing Up: The First Act of Leadership

Tuesday, May 19 | 3:00 - 4:00 PM

In children’s behavioral health, leadership doesn’t start with a strategy deck—it starts with presence. “Showing UP: The First Act of Leadership” explores how consistent, authentic visibility builds trust, strengthens communication, and fuels engagement in high-stress, mission-driven organizations. Attendees will learn practical ways CEOs and leaders can use connection, clarity, and storytelling to shape culture—because people don’t follow titles; they follow leaders who actually show up. Expect research-backed insights, real-world tactics, and a few moments of “oh wow… I’ve been emailing that when I should’ve been walking it.”

Learning Objectives:
  1. Define “showing up” as a leadership practice and identify the specific behaviors that most reliably improve trust, team alignment, and staff engagement in behavioral health settings.

  2. Apply communication and connection tools (rounding, purposeful visibility, micro-moments, and feedback loops) that increase engagement and reduce cultural drift—without adding hours to the calendar.

  3. Use CEO personality and storytelling intentionally to reinforce mission, recognize excellence, and strengthen psychological safety—turning everyday interactions into culture-building moments.
